Battery shipping from China
We ship batteries, power banks and portable power stations from China — cargo that not every carrier accepts. Lithium batteries are subject to separate carriage rules: a dangerous goods class, packing requirements and transport documentation. We know how to arrange this and we do the paperwork ourselves. Transit time can be longer than for ordinary cargo — the route is matched to the specific consignment.
Why not everyone accepts this cargo
A lithium battery is dangerous goods as far as carriage rules are concerned. That means separate packing and marking requirements, separate transport documents and, above all, restrictions from the carriers themselves: not every flight and not every vessel accepts batteries, and some lines do not take them at all.
So the honest answer to "which way will you ship it" is this: by the way that actually accepts your cargo. We do not promise "any option you like" — we match the route to the consignment: the type of battery, its capacity, and whether it travels on its own or inside equipment. That is exactly why many carriers simply decline this category, while we work with it constantly.
What we handle on the documentation side
On our side, the entire chain that makes the consignment fit for carriage:
- we determine which rules apply to your particular cargo — batteries on their own, inside equipment, or packed with it;
- we request the technical information about the batteries from the supplier ourselves, rather than handing you a list of requirements;
- we pack and mark the consignment at our warehouse in China in accordance with the dangerous goods carriage rules;
- we prepare the transport documents and clear the cargo with the carrier before booking, not after;
- we file the export declaration in China and handle customs clearance in Ukraine.
For you it looks like an ordinary delivery order: you describe the goods, the paperwork is ours.
Transit times: why they can be longer and how to plan
The benchmarks are the same as for ordinary cargo: sea around 70 days, air from 10. But for batteries there is added time to find the route: the consignment travels on the next flight or vessel that accepts such cargo, not simply the next one. So the actual transit time depends on the mode and the route, and we quote it for the specific consignment — rather than giving a universal figure that would later need correcting.
The practical conclusion: allow a bigger time buffer for batteries than for ordinary goods, especially in season. If batteries travel together with other goods and the deadline is critical, it is sometimes better to split the shipment — we will price both options.
What we work with
Batteries and cells
Batteries for drones, electric vehicles, tools and equipment travelling as cargo in their own right — the most demanding option in documentation terms.
Power banks and portable power stations
Portable batteries and off-grid power stations — a category with constant demand that we ship in regular consignments.
Batteries installed in products
Electronics and equipment with a battery fitted. The rules are lighter than for standalone batteries, but the paperwork is still separate — and we do it.
