Cargo insurance from China

With us, insurance is optional at the client's request, not a compulsory line on the invoice. The cost starts from 2% of the invoice value of the goods, compensation goes up to 100% of the value, with no deductible. The terms are fixed in writing before shipping, together with the logistics rate, rather than at the moment something has already happened.

You see the terms before shipping

Insurance costs from 2% of the invoice value of the goods. The exact rate depends on the product category and the route and is fixed in writing before shipping. Compensation goes up to 100% of the value of the goods, with no deductible: no "own share" is subtracted from the payout. This is not a ballpark figure but the terms that will go into your documents.

We show the list of exclusions in the same typeface as the list of coverage. In this niche, disputes usually arise not because a payout is refused but because the client sees the terms for the first time after the event. The most common grounds for refusal on the market are manufacturing defects, improper packing by the supplier and undeclared value, so we go through these points before shipping.

Insurance is not compulsory: you decide whether this shipment needs it, and we say plainly when it is justified and when it is not.

Why the value of the goods must be stated honestly

The payout is calculated from the invoice value of the cargo. If the value is understated or not stated at all, compensation is calculated not from what the goods actually cost but from what the documents say — and that is the reason people end up receiving sums that bear no relation to their loss.

This is why we ask for a real invoice. Understating the value saves a couple of per cent on insurance and can cost you the entire shipment. The link to official import with VAT lies here too: with official import the value matches across all documents by default, and the question disappears.

What to do if the cargo is damaged

01

Do not unpack before recording

Inspect the packaging on receipt. If there is visible damage, record it before opening.

02

Record the condition

Photos of the packaging from every side, photos of the markings, photos of the damaged goods, video of the unpacking.

03

Notify us

The deadline for filing a claim is set out in the terms you received before shipping. From there we handle the claim — it is not your task.

04

We submit the documents

We provide the list of documents required for a payout straight away, together with the insurance terms. You hand over the photos and documents; the paperwork is on our side.

05

Payout

Review and payment follow the timelines fixed in the insurance terms. We report on the status of the claim without waiting for you to ask.

When insurance is genuinely needed

Not everything is worth insuring. We say so plainly at the quotation stage.

Definitely worth it: expensive and fragile goods, electronics, equipment, a single large shipment with no backup, cargo bought on credit or under our purchase financing. For cheap, dense goods with a low value per kilogram, a percentage of the value often exceeds the real risk — and we will tell you so.

Why work with us

Transparency

Up to 100% compensation with no deductible

The cost starts from 2% of the invoice value; the payout limit and the list of exclusions are separate items in the commercial proposal, not a paragraph of fine print in an annex to the contract.

Support

We handle the claim

You hand over the photos and documents; from there, handling the claim is our job. Your side keeps selling instead of writing emails.

Route

We see the cargo along the whole route

Our own warehouses in China, our own transport leg, status in your personal account. When a shipment is damaged, we know exactly which leg it happened on — and that is the main argument when the claim is reviewed.
